    This feature would indeed be very useful!

    The side bar in Day view should be able to show tasks in the following order:

    1. Tasks on or past their due date (like today)
    2. Tasks on or past their start date
    3. Undated tasks, sorted by user priority (see separate idea 'Task sorting by user priority')

    Yes, it should be possible to reorder tasks simply by dragging them up or down, without setting a priority number on each. This should also work for sub-tasks.

    New main tasks should by default be on top so they don't disappear in the pile before one has the chance to drag the new task where it belongs. New subtasks should probably be at the bottom, since that is usually where you would want a new subtask.

    This seems to be the same as 'Please add a seting for the week view such that when swiping, we ALWAYS see the set of days we have selected', which has 16 votes at the time of writing. I suggest you move your vote there.
