Hide periodic tasks till occurrence
It would be great if you could hide periodic tasks till the next occurrence or even "X days" before due date in the widgets (agenda and tasks widget, to be more specific).

Yes, please. This is the only thing stopping me from using tasks in Business Calendar.

Yeah, would be great for periodic and even for normal tasks.
It's confusing to see tasks which I shouldn't start because it's to early.E.g. for single task: If doctor says: "Come back in 6 month", I want to enter a task "Call doctor" which is hidden until the given date (or X days before) is reached.
E.g. for periodic task: "Water the flowers" each week, but wait a week if it's just done
