    Yes! My current annoying solution is to make all-day events 00:00am to 11:59pm in order to accomplish this, but I can't get my wife to do the same thing so I don't see her all-day events sometimes

    If I'm understanding your request correctly, the templates feature already does exactly what you want. Just have to set up a few templates in each calendar. Also, why not just use one single calendar and use templates to make each shift a different color?
