For everyone that is still struggling with this one: The cancel-event button is **before**. The option is in the detail-view of the event, behind the 3 dots. It is not possible in the editing-view of an event.

Note: "declining" invitations or events is handled elsewhere.

This feature is marked "completed" since a year, but I still can't find the function while editing an event.

The event states: 'draft', 'confirmed' and 'cancelled' are what I need (as in RFCs rfc2445 and rfc5545)

My events are synced using standard caldav. (on android/EMUI v.10)

What am I doing wrong?

I requested more or less the same thing and was told to post it here. Apparently that does not do much... Here's what I wrote:
I miss a feature to mark events "cancelled".
Instead of just deleting it, this would allow easy shifting to a new date,
especially if the cancelled item were marked in a lighter shade of the same
calendar colour.
Is this possible?

I like to keep track of cancelled events so I can refer back to them. A strikethrough or some other way to mark events as cancelled would be great

I was asking for a feature to put a check that let me know for realized(checked) events, as the check in tasks.
An option that define a status (confirmed, realized, posposed, canceled, etc) would cover both needs.

In ics files this is noted as STATUS:CANCELLED.

I can cancel An event (invite myself than specify not going) on Google calendar and it crosses off. The cross off does not show in BC! This is a problem because then it is not synced with Google calendar!

Place a button in the edit event screen that would change the color of the event and mark the time as available. It could also (optionally) email all attendees.

Sometimes I need the event archived on the calendar, but it does not happen.
