I agree with Helen, prompt to cancel would be useful or disable checkbox switch would be alternative

PS: In my case I use the tasks in "Tasks widgets" as well in "Agenda widget".
If disabling the checkbox please still keep the priority icon. -

Hi, I have the same problem.
If it is my kids touching the complete task check box or myself it would be great if there would be option somewhere in the widget's settings to completely hide it or as others suggested have secondary prompt to confirm the task being completed. I would prefer to completely hide it as I prefer to just click on the task and then mark it as completed. -

I use the agenda view and initially I only had events shown, then I added tasks. I find it a bit dangerous, as the slightest touch marks the task as completed. I would like the option that, upon touching the icon, the app asked me if the task was completed.

I have a problem with widget. I accidentally touch tasks checkbox. It will be good to 'protect' tasks at the moment. Something like double touch.
