Native CalDAV support
It would be nice to sync directly to WebDAV sources including events and tasks (both with real attachments) without Google.

I thought so too but as the free DAVx5 is already the perfect solution to sync calendars and tasks to Android and Business Calendar has access to these synced calendars I actually think it is better to have one software focused on perfect compatible syncing and one on calender functionality.
Unfortunately Business Calender does not access WebDAV synced tasks, while eg the Samsung todo tasks is capable of that.
