Business Calendar scans your contacts for birthdays and shows them in a special calendar instance, afterwards

Three years later, is the bug about multiplying birthdays still not fixed?!
I had this issue on my HTC One M7. And now on my brand new HTC U11.
On the old, rooted phone I was able to delete the local calendar. But my new phone e is not (yet) rooted, but has three to sixteen copys of each birthday.
Could business calendar have a feature to give user a choice where the birthday data should be stored? Now it's only in android contacts but I would like it to be in the actual calendar so it can synch with my calendar on my pc (thunderbird).
Right now i have all the birthdays as regular events with prefix <year> so for example <1990> gets calculated to an actual year 25...
It's a legacy from another pc calendar which used such syntax.
Could BC calculate all <year> to actual year please?
So an event "<1990> birthday Dad" would turn into "25th birthday dad" (in 2015)
OK guys after a long time of looking around on my phone (and a lot of swearing), I finally managed to get rid of the multiple birthdays. I went to my contacts > options > "show all contacts". Then I found the names that were showing about 96 times in my calendar, and deleted those contacts. I found that they were always stored as "Skype" contacts, and I figured they're actually old MSN Messenger contacts that probably got imported when installing Skype! So after making sure I could delete those (either because they were doubles or I simply don't see those people anymore), I did so, then synced Business Calendar and yes, they're gone! I'm glad my problem is solved now but it's really sad that we have to struggle like this to get something to work... Obviously a bug and what's worse: no where you find an indication of where the app is getting those birthdays from. Booo, Business Calendar!
Some contacts with 35 birthdays, other with 16...
I bought the Pro version as it looked great, but, as this issue keeps on not beeing solved, I'm going to ask for my money back...
Any way to turn this off?
Resurrecting this post to say I found a workaround to the multiplying birthdays. I only had one contact that did it, but every time bizcal synced it added a new birthday event for them. I found the person's birthday was listed in my contacts and deleted the birthday line from the contact info. I added the birthday event back in bizcal and synced. No more duplicates! (HTC One M8)
What a spectacularly bad idea! For those who use GMail Contacts it creates bunch of duplicates as we already have that in the original calendar.
Same for me. I've several duplicates of all birthdays. In the calendars I see several write protected entrys called "Birthdays & Anniversaries" and "Birthday / Anniversary Sync"
I can't delete these entries...
I have same problem. Any settings for android? There is no advance sync setting on androind. I just have to switch off showing birthday because i have 21 copy now of each birthday and u can not see other items in callendar :(

My birthday calendar recently held over 50 copies of all birthdays... I have tried deleting and recreating the calendar to see if I could get rid of all the copies.
You can disable this for each entry. I will try it to explain, but I don't know wich terms the program uses in english.
In "Settings" [F2], "Calendar and Tasks", "Synchronisation", "Extended", check "Acknowledgement", Show at 1 Change. Then you get the choise for each entry wich should be synchronized: [mobile | Outlook | no further synch]. Then you choise "no further synch".
I hope I could help.
How can I disable this? I'm tired of the multiple calendar entries for birthdays.
I have had also the multiplying of birthdates and I think it's an loop-effect by Synchronisation (I synch with Outlook). I have set for all birthdays after the first synchronisation to "not synch in future" (i don't know the exact formulation in english, because my calender ist in german). At the first step it may be an effort. But then there is no more trouble.

Why has this not been fixed yet? I now have 16 instances of every birthday from my contacts showing up on my calendar. It makes some of the calendar views completely unusable.
I love Business Calendar but i have to dump this app for Digical due to this bug that they seem to be completely ignoring. Too bad.
Check the year of the birthdate. In my case I have the problems for contacts with DD.MM.1920 only (which I set for contacts where I dont know the real year). I think it works for any birthyear like 1930 or later.

I am also having problems with multiple birthdays showing up. Just bought the pro version because I loved the free version and wanted to support extra development. But trying to find and answer to this issue is next to impossible. Come on guys with so many people having this issue the fix should be one the front page and especially in the faq list.

Would be a nice feature but with multiple entries for the same contact it is simply not usable - I have two devices and they behave completely different. One contact may be shown correctly with just one one entry on the first device and then with four entries on the other device.... Please fix this asap.
Perfect feature, thank you!
Little bug: Some birthdays are duplicated for some reason. In my case it seems to be the birthday entry of the very first contact (sorted by lastname) in my contacts list. it is only this birthday.
I also have the problem, that there are noumerous "birthday" duplicates for many contacts while other contacts shown only one correct birthday-entry.
Showing the birthday of a single person about 10 or more times is annoying and make this feature nearly unusable :-/

I'm now up to 8 copies of birthdays showing in Business Calendar Pro. It seems to add one about every 2 weeks. It's getting incredibly annoying, since it sends a reminder for each instance. I have a Galaxy S4. I even turned off the birthday function just now and and they're still there! I checked my google contacts and there aren't any duplicates. I have latest updates for the S4 and Business Calendar Pro.
I was able to get back to normal by deleting the app, restarting my phone and reinstalling, but I had to turn the birthday feature off and I won't be trying it again any time soon.
